Aliza Gershon

Chief Executive Officer

Aliza was appointed CEO in 2008 and since then has initiated dramatic changes in the work of Tzav Pius, under the slogan “From Dialogue to Reality.” The organization has spearheaded an educational revolution in Israel through the creation of cooperative ventures that seek to eliminate the dichotomy between different educational streams. Under her leadership the number of integrated schools and kindergartens in the project “Common Denominator” has grown exponentially, and this has resulted in strong connections with the Ministry of Education and Jewish communities in the Diaspora.

Aliza’s outlook is based on a basic belief in equal entities, each respecting the special contribution of the other community to preserving Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. Her approach finds expression in the provision of significant organizational resources to the development of educational programs that are suited to the world of each pupil within the wider spectrum of Israeli life and their attitude to Jewish values, as well as to basic democratic, humanist and universal values.
